FAZ Magazin Heft 185, 1983. Art Director: Willy Fleckhaus. He was one of the most innovative and influential postwar graphic artists in the German-speaking countries. Together with Adolf Theobald and Stephan Wolf, Willy Fleckhaus co-founded "Twen" magazine in 1959 and became its art director. In 1980 he was asked to art direct the weekly magazine for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Through his innovative design principles, FAZ Magazine achieved the reputation of being the most beautiful and widely read publication in the world! Fleckhaus was Professor at the University in Essen and Wuppertal and taught and nurtured only the best and most promising students. Bauhaus influences, coupled with the inspirational teachings of Alexey Brodovitch and close friend Max Bill, gave students a working education they couldn’t get anywhere else.
